What This Accessibility Audit Covers

Perceivable

Image Alt Text (1.1.1)

Every image needs descriptive alt text. Missing alt text is the #1 accessibility violation on the web.

Autoplaying Media (1.4.2)

Audio and video must not auto-play. This disrupts screen readers and can trigger seizures.

Viewport Configuration (1.4.4)

The viewport must allow text resizing on mobile devices without losing content.

Operable

Skip Navigation (2.4.1)

A skip-to-content link lets keyboard users bypass repeated navigation menus.

Page Title (2.4.2)

Every page needs a descriptive title for browser tabs, bookmarks, and screen readers.

Link Purpose (2.4.4)

Links must have text content. Empty links are invisible to screen reader users.

Understandable

Language Declaration (3.1.1)

The page must declare its language so screen readers use correct pronunciation.

Form Labels (3.3.2)

Every form input needs a label so users know what information to enter.

Robust

Heading Structure (1.3.1)

Headings must follow a logical hierarchy (H1, H2, H3) for screen reader navigation.

Why Audit Your Website for Accessibility

8,667
ADA lawsuits in 2025

ADA Title III lawsuits continue to rise. Web accessibility cases are a growing share. An audit identifies the violations that trigger demand letters.

94.8%
of sites fail accessibility

WebAIM found that 94.8% of the top million websites have WCAG failures. The average site has 50+ violations. If you haven't audited, you almost certainly have issues.

15%
of users have disabilities

The WHO estimates 15% of the global population lives with a disability. Accessibility issues exclude these users from your website, your content, and your business.

$5K+
typical ADA settlement

ADA web accessibility settlements range from $5,000 to $75,000+. Legal defense costs $10,000+ even if you win. A proactive audit costs a fraction of a lawsuit.

Website Accessibility Audit FAQ

What does this website accessibility audit check?
We audit your page's live HTML for WCAG 2.1 Level AA violations: missing language attributes, images without alt text, empty links, unlabeled form inputs, missing page titles, skip navigation links, heading structure, viewport configuration, and autoplaying media. These are the violations most commonly cited in ADA lawsuits and the ones accessibility consultants flag first.
How is this different from other accessibility audit tools?
OnePageAudit is designed for speed and clarity. You get results in under 60 seconds with no signup, no browser extension, and no software to install. Each violation includes the specific WCAG rule, the severity level, and plain-language fix instructions. The full report ($19) adds the exact HTML element causing each issue plus a downloadable PDF.
Is this accessibility audit tool free?
The audit is completely free. You get your accessibility score (0-100) and the top 3 violations at no cost. The full report with every violation, exact HTML elements, and step-by-step fix instructions is $19 one-time. No subscription.
What WCAG standard does this audit use?
We audit against WCAG 2.1 Level AA, which is the standard referenced by courts in ADA cases, adopted by the DOJ in its 2024 Title II rule, and recommended by the European Accessibility Act (EN 301 549). WCAG 2.1 AA is the most widely accepted benchmark for web accessibility worldwide.
Can I audit a website I don't own?
Yes. We scan any public URL, the same way a browser would load it. You can audit competitor websites, client websites, or any publicly accessible page. We don't access private content, require login credentials, or store page content.
How often should I audit my website for accessibility?
At minimum, audit after any major redesign, CMS update, or content change. Best practice is monthly audits. Content changes, plugin updates, and new features can introduce new violations. Our $99/month monitoring plan runs weekly automated scans so you catch issues as they appear.
Does passing an automated audit mean my site is fully accessible?
Automated audits catch the most common and critical violations, but full accessibility also requires manual testing: navigating with a keyboard only, testing with screen readers (NVDA, VoiceOver, JAWS), and reviewing interactive elements like modals, dropdowns, and forms. Our audit gives you a strong baseline and identifies the highest-priority fixes.
Can I share the audit results with my developer?
Yes. The $19 full report includes a downloadable PDF with every violation, the exact HTML element, the WCAG rule it violates, and step-by-step fix instructions. Hand it directly to your developer or agency. No technical translation needed.
